µTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little cpu, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients.

Changelog:

  • Fix: make “alternate upload rate when seeding” apply when the seeding is set by the scheduler
  • Fix: align “Web Seeds” in torrent creation dialog
  • Fix: translated strings in uninstaller

µTorrent 1.8.2 Build 15123 Stable

Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in µTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT (compatible with BitComet). Additionally, µTorrent supports the Protocol Encryption joint specification (compatible with Azureus 2.4.0.0 and above, BitComet 0.63 and above) and peer exchange.

OneSwarm 0.5

OneSwarm is a new P2P data sharing application to provide users with explicit control over their privacy by enabling fine-grained control over how data is shared. Instead of sharing data indiscriminately, data shared with OneSwarm can be made public, it can be shared with friends, shared with some friends but not others, and so forth. This is referred to friend-to-friend (F2F) data sharing.

OneSwarm is:

  • Privacy preserving: OneSwarm uses source address rewriting to protect user privacy. Instead of always transmitting data directly from sender to receiver (immediately identifying both), OneSwarm may forward data through multiple intermedaries, obscuring the identity of both sender and receiver.

µTorrent has been one of the popular BitTorrent P2P clients  for Windows operating system, due to its lightweight in resource usage and effective fast performance in downloading torrents. µTorrent has finally released its beta version for Mac OS X.
