AVG 8.0 is the latest version of security software from AVG Technologies, succeeding AVG AntiVirus Professional 7.5. The main product in AVG 8.0 is AVG Internet Security 8.0 which, similar to Avast! Anti-Virus 4.8, incorporates anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-rootkit, anti-spam, web shield and LinkScanner site warning toolbar all-in-one. AVG Anti-Virus excludes firewall and anti-spam, while AVG 7.5 only has anti-virus functionality.
It is now possible to install valid full license for AVG Anti-Virus 8.0, thanks to the offer of free AVG 7.5 Pro which valid to end of 2008.
AVG customers whom have signed up for the free AVG 7.5 Professional promotion, and have downloaded and installed a copy of the virus protection software, simply download the latest AVG 8.0 setup installer and then install update on top of the AVG 7.5 Pro. The setup will automatically pick up the installed license code or serial number, and users can continue to run AVG Anti-Virus 8.0 until December 1, 2008.
For users who have not installed AVG Pro 7.5, the trick is to install using the serial license code that is the same as the free AVG 7.5 Pro license promotion.
